We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

After years of pinching pennies and sticking to a strict budget, the day has finally come—I’ve saved up enough money to buy a new car! It’s time to say goodbye to my old secondhand car and get something fresh and reliable.

Now, I’m looking for a trustworthy dealership to make sure I get the best deal for my money. I want one that sells the most reliable cars and offers a tonne of additional services to make sure my driving experience remains smooth.

After some days of research, I’ve put together this list of the best local car dealerships that I’m interested in. Hope this helps you too!

How much does a brand-new car cost in Toronto?

As of 2025, the average price for a new car in Toronto is $68,500.

Take note that this price can vary depending on the car’s make and model.

How We Chose

Car quality – We looked at whether these car dealerships sell high-quality cars, considering the car features and technology, safety ratings, and warranties.
Additional services – We chose car dealerships that offer additional services like vehicle servicing, roadside assistance, vehicle detailing, and trade-in services.
Accessibility – We prefer car dealerships that are near major roads and public transit stations. We also considered whether they’re open on most days of the week.
Customer service – We assessed whether their staff members always treat their clients kindly and respectfully. We also evaluated whether they respond to enquiries quickly.
Price fairness – We checked whether their prices are fair considering the quality of their cars, additional services, accessibility, and warranties provided.

One of my top picks is, of course, the renowned Toyota brand. This gigantic automaker has several decades of experience and has a solid presence in Toronto, including a major car dealership in Downtown Toronto.

This dealership offers most of their latest models, like the Tacoma, Tundra, and Venza.

Personally, I like the integration of the Toyota Safety Sense technologies in all their new cars. Some of these nifty techs include pre-collision detection systems and lane departure alerts.

Beyond their cars, I also appreciate that this dealership has an auto repair department. They offer convenient perks like after-hours key drop, which lets you drop off your vehicle to them for repairs outside of their business hours.

However, I’ve heard some folks mention long wait times for vehicle delivery and repair services from this location, which is quite disappointing.

Pros

  • New cars equipped with advanced safety features
  • Has pre-owned cars available
  • Offers car repair services
  • Has after-hours key drop services

Cons

  • Slow delivery service
  • Slow repair services

I really recommend it 100%

“Marcos Borjas’ service at Downtown Toyota was incredible. He is a very helpful and attentive person and helped us with everything we needed from the moment we entered the dealership until we left with our vehicle. I really recommend it 100%. Thank you very much, Marcos.”

Had a great experience at Downtown Toyota

“Had a great experience at Downtown Toyota. It is surprising to drive in and see so many dealerships all in one place! However, the parking attendant is there to direct you to where you need to go. The sales team was fantastic. They took time to understand our needs and helped us find the right vehicle with absolutely no pressure. Thank you Blair and Raphael, can’t wait to drive my new RAV4!”

Another notable car dealership I discovered in the downtown area is the one owned by Lexus, a subsidiary company of Toyota. Known for their beautiful cars, this brand offers models like the NX250, NX350, and TX500h.

What makes them one of the best, in my opinion, is their extended warranty coverage called Extra Care Protection. Not only does it lengthen your car’s warranty, but it also grants you extra perks like roadside assistance and travel planning assistance.

It’s also worth mentioning that they provide auto repair services. Plus, their High Mileage Loyalty Program rewards long-term customers with special discounts for maintaining their Lexus vehicles past 120,000 kilometres.

However, it’s disappointing to learn that their staff sometimes misses responding to enquiries.

Pros

  • Has pre-owned cars available
  • Offers extended warranty coverage
  • Offers car repair services
  • Discounted repairs for Lexus cars with high mileage

Cons

  • Sometimes misses responding to enquiries
  • Slow customer service

Highly recommend if you’re searching for a new vehicle!

End to end experience was great

“Recently purchased a vehicle from Sean on the sales team. He did a great job of answering all of my elderly father’s questions about the vehicle from across the country in Vancouver. He was super professional and had the car ready to pick up within hours. End to end experience was great.”

Nissan is probably another name you’ve heard before thanks to its global presence. Here in Toronto, they have a car dealership in the downtown area where they sell new and pre-owned cars like Pathfinder, Rogue, and Sentra.

A good thing about them is they offer financing options to make it easier for most people to buy their cars. They also provide leasing options for those who only want a car for a short time.

As for their additional services, I’m glad that they have specialized repair crews for maintaining hybrid and electric vehicles. It’s also quite easy to have your car repaired here since they offer valet and after-hours key drop services.

Sadly, they have some issues that discourage me from buying here. The biggest one is their unpunctual staff members, who sometimes fail to show up to sales appointments on time.

Pros

  • Has pre-owned cars available
  • Offers financing and leasing options
  • Specialises in repairing hybrid and electric vehicles
  • Offers valet and after-hours key drop services

Cons

  • Unpunctual staff
  • Sometimes misses responding to enquiries

His professionalism, product knowledge, and genuine care for my needs were truly impressive. He took the time to explain all the features of the car and made sure I got the best deal possible.

I highly recommend Nissan Downtown and Nima to anyone looking for a great car-buying experience. Thank you for your exceptional service!”

While my budget isn’t quite there yet for a new Audi, I’m sure many of you appreciate the allure of this classic German brand. That’s why I decided to include their dealership on Bayview Avenue.

First off, they have a good selection of models, including the A4, Q3, Q5, and S7. You can get these cars at more reasonable prices by taking advantage of their trade-in services, which include a hassle-free appraisal of your old car.

Another reason why this dealership is one of the best is its Professional Association Program. If you’re a member of professional organizations like the Ontario Dental Association, you can get exclusive discounts on new Audi vehicles.

Unfortunately, they have some issues when it comes to post-sale customer service, with some customers facing delays in service and repairs.

Pros

  • Has pre-owned cars available
  • Offers trade-in appraisals
  • Special discounts for members of professional organizations
  • Has special rates for business fleets

Cons

  • Slow repair services
  • Above-average prices

I had the best experience at Audi

If you’re in the market for a luxury car, Grand Touring Automobiles is the one I highly recommend. They’ve been around since 1974 and boast a top-notch selection of cars made by companies like Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, and Lamborghini.

What’s nice is that they sell both brand-new and second-hand cars, so there’s a good chance you can snag a luxury car at a more reasonable price. They even provide leasing options to make their cars more accessible.

Aside from their cars, I also like that they offer vehicle repair services and can even provide roadside assistance if needed. It’s also cool that they have a boutique where you can buy vehicle accessories and stylish apparel from the luxury car brands I mentioned.

However, I find it disappointing that some of their staff members may act rudely towards customers.

Pros

  • Sells luxury cars
  • Has pre-owned cars available
  • Offers leading options
  • Offers roadside assistance
  • Has a boutique selling exclusive car accessories

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Some rude staff
  • Slow delivery service

Most enjoyable car-buying process to date!

“Grand Touring Auto was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Diana was attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely focused on getting us the best option. Janet handled details with care, making the closing process easy & smooth.

Very personalized service, even after hours both Janet and Diana were very responsive. Most enjoyable car-buying process to date!”
