With a new job comes a fresh set of responsibilities. While I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to advance my career, it’s also been challenging to keep up with some of my previous routines, especially spending quality time with my dog.
Noticing that he’s been getting more bored and restless lately, I decided to enroll him in a dog daycare. This way, he can socialise, have fun, and stay active while I’m busy with work.
I know there are other fur parents out there facing the same struggle, which is why I made a list of the best dog daycares in Toronto.
How much does a day in a dog daycare cost in Toronto?
Most dog daycares in Toronto charge around $50 per day for standard daycare services.
However, this price can change depending on the daycare, services offered, and the length of stay.
How We Chose
1. Prudent Paws

Services offered: Structured Dog Daycare, Structured Cage-Free Boarding, Anesthesia-Free Cosmetic Teeth Cleaning
Address: 529 Richmond St E
Phone number: 647-493-0824
Business hours: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM (MON-FRI) 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (SAT)
Located in the heart of Downtown Toronto, Prudent Paws offers structured, cage-free dog daycare services with a strong focus on safety, comfort, and personalized care. Founded by Shanice Kelly, the centre prides itself on creating a warm, inclusive space where dogs of all needs can thrive under the watchful care of trained professionals.
Unlike many daycares that use cages or kennels, Prudent Paws offers a fully cage-free and kennel-free setup. This helps reduce stress and anxiety in dogs, allowing them to feel more at ease and behave naturally in a homelike environment.
With a maximum of 10 dogs per staff member, dogs receive more one-on-one attention and supervision. This ensures that each pup gets personalized care tailored to their needs, behavior, and energy levels.
Dogs with special requirements—such as mobility issues, vision impairment, or medication needs—are welcome. Staff members are certified in canine first aid, giving pet parents peace of mind that their dogs are in capable hands.
The daycare operates on a well-balanced schedule that includes playtime, walks, and rest. A predictable routine helps dogs feel secure, supports their physical and mental health, and reduces behavioral issues.
Founded out of a genuine love for dogs, Prudent Paws emphasizes emotional well-being and joy for every pup. The atmosphere feels more like a second home than a facility, which is especially reassuring for anxious or first-time daycare attendees.
Takes the most amazing care of our big pup
“We had been searching for the best daycare for Stella. We are so happy with our experience at Prudent Paws! Sunny takes the most amazing care of our big pup, treating her like family every time she visits. Stella always comes home super happy, completely played out, and ready for a good nap—proof that she’s had the best time!
We had a tiny hiccup with the billing process, mostly due to our own misunderstanding, but Shanice and Sunny were absolutely fantastic in helping us sort it out. They were incredibly quick to respond and provided the best service and care throughout.
Beyond that, the love and attention they give to our pup, Stella, is amazing. We’re so grateful for their dedication and highly recommend Prudent Paws!
If you’re looking for a place where your dog will be loved, well cared for, and have a blast, Prudent Paws is the place to go. Highly recommend!”
Has created a great environment for helping my pup come out of his shell and be less anxious
“I’ve been bringing my puppy Theo to Prudent Paws for 3 months now and he absolutely loves it there! Shanice is amazing to work with, she is super flexible and always sending photos and updates throughout the day.
I’d recommend Prudent Paws to everyone but especially anyone with a shy or anxious puppy, Shanice has created a great environment for helping my pup come out of his shell and be less anxious.”
2. Barkingham Palace

Services offered: Dog daycare and dog boarding
Address: 2211 Gerrard St E
Phone number: +1 416-690-2275
Business hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (MON-FRI)
Let’s start with Barkingham Palace, the dog daycare that’s been taking care of my furbaby lately. What initially caught my eye was their two decades of experience combined with affordable rates.
Here, you can enroll your dog in daycare for as low as $36 per day. They even offer special discounts if you enroll multiple dogs at a time.
Personally, I like that they have a spacious play area where my furbaby can socialise with other dogs under close supervision. It’s also nice that they have a free walking service, where they take my dog to a nearby park for a change of scenery.
Additionally, they offer free nail trims and ear cleanings, which help keep my dog looking and feeling clean.
My only major issue is that they tend to become fully booked quickly, so it’s essential to book in advance.
We know she is in good hands!
“We have been taking our dog Lucy to Kelsey ever since she was a puppy and she’s eight now. They have always done a great job and we know she is in good hands! Can’t say enough about what a great place this is!! Although I’m not sure Lucy loves the grooming part, she certainly loves Kelsey!”

Both my dog and I love Barkingham Palace!
“Both my dog and I love Barkingham Palace! I completely trust their knowledgeable staff to take care of my girl when I’m at work and I know that by the time I get home she’s going to be tired and happy.
I also love getting the pictures of Pearl frolicking at the park each day with the other dogs.
Living in the city and working full time I don’t know what I would do without Barkingham. They are an invaluable service for any dog owner. :)”

It’s also worth mentioning that they can provide specialised care for dogs with special needs, like those with anxiety and mobility challenges. They even provide free shuttle services so you don’t have to drive your dog here every day.
However, some customers have mentioned issues with their invoice system, including complaints about double payments and not receiving proper invoices.

The one they have in Bloor West Village is quite impressive, as it features a 5,300-square-foot indoor space that’s separated into four huge playrooms. These rooms are equipped with air filtration systems, HVAC systems, and rubberized flooring to keep their dogs in good health while playing.
I also like that these rooms are equipped with webcams, so anxious fur parents can check on their dogs whenever they want. Dogtopia also has its own mobile app, available on both App Store and Play Store, that lets you book appointments here with ease.
However, it’s important to note that their prices are slightly above average.

5. KYON Dog Daycare

Address: 792 Eglinton Ave E
Phone number: +1 416-844-4909
Business hours:

Having been founded in 2021, KYON Dog Daycare is one of the newest dog daycares in Toronto. This family-run daycare features a 680-square-foot playroom where dogs can play while under close supervision by at least two staff members at all times.
While their facility is on the smaller side, it still has some nice features, like personal cubbies and a quiet room for dogs who want to relax. It’s also good that this facility is made with upcycled building materials and VOC-free paint.
As for their services, I’m glad that they have the Play+Train program, which combines daycare with training sessions by local trainer Julian Bronk. It’s a good way to keep dogs mentally stimulated and well-behaved.
However, the limited space means that KYON can only accommodate up to 25 dogs at a time.
KYON is the best doggy daycare and boarding facility in Toronto
“KYON is the best doggy daycare and boarding facility in Toronto. The entire team is incredibly nice and caring. We always leave our 2-year-old Maltipoo with KYON with complete peace of mind. Our dog has a sensitive digestive system, and they always follow our instructions carefully. This summer, Toffee stayed at KYON for 10 days while we were away, and everything was simply perfect. Thanks for your professionalism and for providing such a great place for our pups. 🐶 🙏🏻”

The staff is super attentive and responsive
“We have been taking Murphy to KYON for well over a year at this point, and every time we turn onto Eglinton, he gets SO excited knowing we are taking him there. The staff is super attentive and responsive. I love that they take them for several structured walks and naps daily, and that there is always someone there with the dogs for overnight boarding. We have needed to board Murphy several times, for both short and longer periods, and I know he is always well cared for. They send daily pictures in addition to the fun daily videos on Instagram. I appreciate that it is a smaller, family run business, because Murphy does get more attentive care then. Thank you KYON! ❤️”

Petopia is a dog daycare founded over two decades ago by Pat and Wilson, two dog lovers who are certified pet care technicians by the American Boarding Kennel Association.
Their daycare facility is quite impressive, as it features a 6,000-square-foot outdoor dog park and live webcams so you can check in on your pup anytime. Their staff can also render first aid in times of emergencies.
As for their services, I’m glad that they offer supervised puppy playgroups to help young pups socialise with other dogs from an early age. It can help them learn good manners and make new friends.
One downside, though, is their slightly higher fees for one-day passes. That’s why I recommend availing their unlimited pass, which costs $640 per month, as it offers better value for all-day play and socialisation.
My dog Ducky seems to love it here
“I had a few trips coming up and needed somewhere to board my dog Ducky and found this one nearby with great reviews! Honestly their reviews don’t lie! This is a very cute homey place and my dog Ducky seems to love it here. Getting report cards and photos help ease my anxiety which is reassuring for any of the dog parents with separation anxiety from their babies.”

The staff seem like they truly care for the dogs
“My lab Harley has been attending daycare at Petopia since March of this year. The staff seem like they truly care for the dogs and ensure they are having fun while being safe. We enjoy the fact that there are nest cameras and we can see what she is up to during the day, alongside photo updates and report cards. Harley truly enjoys going to daycare. We can tell because when we pick her up she is absolutely soaked from the hose and with a big smile on her face. Thank you Petopia staff for the environment you provide for Harley and all her fur friends! We highly recommend Petopia for your doggy daycare needs.”
