The one that helped me with my passport application issue was Toronto House Call Notary Public. It was founded by Vinh Tran, a practicing lawyer with more than a decade of experience.
A key reason why I picked them is their availability. They can provide late-night notarization services if needed! They even have emergency notary service, which was a huge help in getting my documents ready ASAP.
Another good thing about them is their free re-notarization if you make any mistake with your original documents. Furthermore, as their name suggests, you can have them notarize your document from the comfort of your home via their mobile notary service.
That said, it should be noted that their prices are above average. They charge $20 per document notarized.
Helped us obtain our notarized document within an hour
“While visiting Toronto to obtain a visa, we found out we needed a notarized document in an extreme hurry. Vinh Tran rescued us. We interacted by text and email, and he helped us obtain our notarized document within an hour of reaching out to him. He was fast, friendly, and straight-to-the-point. I highly recommend his services!”

3. Toronto Notary Public

Specialisations: Affidavits, consent to travel documents, invitation letters, special power of attorney, continuing power of attorney, translator’s affidavits, and more
Address: 800 Bathurst St #402
Phone number: +1 416-939-4158

11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (TUES, THURS, and FRI)
10:30 AM – 4:00 PM (SAT)
For those who are on tight budgets, Toronto Notary Public is the one I recommend. It was founded in 2006 by Jeffery Brown and can notarize a document for only $16.95.
But that price is only for 1–3 documents. The more documents you ask them to notarize, the bigger the discounts you’ll get! If you’re planning to notarize more than 10 documents, they’ll only charge you $5 each.
Another thing I like is that they accept same-day appointments. If they’re not handling a lot, they can even notarize your document within five minutes!
Unfortunately, the only way to access their notarization services is by visiting their office in person. They don’t offer virtual or mobile notarization services.
Very straight forward I was in and out in 5 minutes at most
“Absolutely fantastic and fast service, he is a very nice person and prices are unbeatable. Very straight forward I was in and out in 5 minutes at most, very easy to reach via metro.”

4. Downtown Notary

Specialisations: Certified true copies, statutory declarations, affidavits, real estate documents, wills, and more
Address: 95 St Joseph St Office 129
Phone number: +1 647-799-3531

Downtown Notary is a good choice for those who want to have their documents notarized with little to no hassle. They were founded in 2014 and can notarize either in their office, in your home, or through online appointments.
What I like the most about them is the additional services they offer alongside their notarizations. They have a fluent Spanish speaker on their staff who can assist you in translating official documents.
Plus, I especially like that they offer support to Toronto’s trans community through free notarization services for name and gender change applications!
However, it’s important to note that their services are quite pricey; they charge $37.99 per document. On the bright side, they offer a 25% discount for students and a 10% discount for seniors.
They also provide sliding scale discounts for those on fixed incomes.

Notary Pro was founded in 2016 by Robert Onley, a licensed lawyer with more than a decade of experience. I see them as a good choice for businesses, as they offer comprehensive business notarization services for corporate documents, contracts, and real estate transactions.
Businesses get a nice discount too since they offer bulk discounts for notarizing multiple documents at a time.
Aside from that, it’s also a good thing that they offer mobile and online notary public services to anywhere in Toronto. They even provide evening appointments, making them one of the more accessible choices.
However, one disadvantage is their prices; they charge $45.95 for in-person notarization. It might be wise to consider other options first if you don’t need their business notarization services.
Efficient and speedy service

12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (SUN)
If you’re not confident with your English, my top recommendation is Canada Notary Scarborough. Their multilingual staff can assist clients who speak languages like Russian, Spanish, French, Filipino, Arabic, and Hebrew.
It’s also worth mentioning that they can provide their services to every suburb in Toronto thanks to their mobile and online notarization services.
What’s also nice about them are the additional services they offer alongside their notarization services. They can assist clients in drafting invitation letters, which are necessary to formally invite someone from abroad to visit Canada.
They can even help clients with visa processing after they finish notarizing all the necessary documents!
However, please take note that their office is a bit far from Toronto’s western suburbs. This could be inconvenient for those who prefer in-person services and want to avoid mobile notarization fees.
The process went smoothly, very helpful
“We just did our notary there today. There’s a line before us but we didn’t wait long. I believe it’s recommended to call before coming though. The process went smoothly, very helpful👍”
