We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Isn’t it nice to keep a physical copy of a memory? That’s why I love printing my photos and framing them.

For this, I trust my favourite photo printing shop. With their help, I can get some high-quality prints of my memories that I’m confident can stand the test of time.

For those who are still looking for one they can rely on, here are some of the best photo printing shops in Toronto I recommend!

How much does it cost to have a photo printed in Toronto?

It usually costs around $0.35 to have a 4×6 photo printed in Toronto.

Please take note that prices can vary depending on the shop and the type of print you choose.

How We Chose

Range of services – We picked photo printing shops that offer a wide variety of printing options, including standard prints, canvas prints, and photo books.
Print quality – We looked at whether they consistently produce high-quality prints based on their materials, printing techniques, and opinions we’ve gathered from their clients.
Accessibility – We considered whether these shops are located near public transit stations and major roads. We also checked whether they’re open on most days of the week.
Customer service – We assessed whether their staff always treat their customers fairly and are quick to respond to enquiries.
Price fairness – We also considered whether their prices are fair based on their print quality, accessibility, turnaround times, and customization options offered.

Toronto Image Works Limited was founded back in 1986 by Edward Burtynsky. They offer a variety of photo printing services, including inkjet, digital, and large-format prints.

They also offer backlit prints, which are photos designed to glow from within a sleek lightbox!

Additionally, they have adhesive vinyl prints, which are useful for exhibitions and gallery installations. They use 3M Controltac films for this one, so the print quality is quite good.

Another thing worth mentioning is that they offer corporate art services. If you’re a business owner looking to improve your office space, their team can provide consultation, printing, laminating, framing, and installation of any photos.

Of course, no shop is perfect. Their turnaround time is about 3 business days for small format photo prints and about 1 to 2 weeks for more complex photo products.

60 Minute Photo Lab is the place where I usually have my photos printed. They haven’t let me down yet so far and I’m glad that they offer services like digital printing, film printing, custom framing, and more.

What impresses me the most is their high-resolution film scanning. As someone who still enjoys shooting with film occasionally, their Noritsu HS-1800 scanner ensures my photos come out crisp and detailed.

Plus, their turnaround time is good! Whether it’s film development or printing, they usually get it done in 1 to 2 hours, which is very convenient.

Another thing I like is their MPL Member Club. As a member, I can enjoy a 10% discount on their services and products.

However, a huge downside is that their prices are a bit higher compared to other photo printing shops, so that discount really helps.

Pros

  • Can do high-resolution film scanning
  • Quick turnaround times
  • Has a membership program
  • Can digitize film and prints
  • Offers custom framing

Cons

  • Above-average prices
  • Some rude staff

MrPhotoCanvas is a photo printing shop that’s been around since 2012. They specialize in a solid range of photo printing services, especially large-format and custom canvas prints.

One standout feature of this shop is their free retouching service. They’ll smooth out wrinkles, adjust colours, and do minor edits to make sure your photo looks its best before it gets printed.

It’s also worth mentioning that they regularly offer special deals, like a half-price sale on all custom canvas prints in Spring 2025. And their pay-on-pickup policy is good—you only pay when you pick up the print and are happy with it.

There are a couple of downsides, though. Their limited open hours are a bit of a hassle, and they can’t print small-format photos like 4×6.

Pros

  • Specialises in large-format prints
  • Free retouching service
  • Regularly offers special deals
  • Pay-on-pickup policy

Cons

  • Open between Thursdays and Saturdays only

If you love turning your photos into wall art, you might like Posterjack. They were founded in 2009 and offer services such as glossy prints, satin prints, canvas prints, and more.

As their name suggests, large-format photo prints are their bread and butter. They can print your photos in high resolution and apply them to a wide range of mediums.

In particular, I’m interested in their HD metal prints, which use high-definition aluminum to make your photos pop.

Another thing I like is their PJ Loyalty Program, which rewards you with exclusive discounts and free stuff the more you use their services. They even have a customer referral program that grants you more perks for every successful referral.

However, a huge problem with Posterjack is their delivery service. It’s quite slow and they sometimes fail to complete a delivery.

For those who prefer taking photos the old way, Graination is a good pick. This photo lab focuses mostly on developing films and offers a mail-in service, so you don’t have to visit the shop in person.

They use top-notch equipment to ensure your prints are as good as they can be. For regular sizes, they use a high-resolution Noritsu printer, and for bigger prints, they have a Canon fine art photo printer that delivers great-quality prints.

I also like that they offer same-day printing services.

And if you’re really into film, their NERD Membership is worth checking out. It offers benefits like discounts on their film stock and free upgrades to 16-bit TIFF files, which provide better colour depth compared to standard JPG formats.

However, it’s disappointing to hear that some clients encountered rude behaviour from their staff.

Pros

  • Offers mail-in film developing
  • Uses high-quality film scanning equipment
  • Has same-day printing services
  • Has a membership program

Cons

  • Some rude staff
  • Charges $5 per roll for same-day service

The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to provide professional advice. Their turnaround time is impressively quick, and the quality of the scans and prints is top-notch. The ambiance of the place, combined with a great selection of coffee, makes every visit enjoyable. I also appreciate their wide variety of film options and the helpful examples they provide.
