When I want to treat myself to a full-course meal but can’t decide what to eat, I know exactly what to do: go to a restaurant with a prix fixe menu.
With a prix fixe menu, I don’t have to think hard about what to get for appetizers, main course, and dessert because the options are narrowed down for me. And the best part is that since it’s multi-course, I end up stuffed and satisfied!
There are many restaurants in Toronto offering prix fixe menus—ranging from fancy, expensive options to affordable ones. Here are some that I recommend.
Le Baratin
– From: lebaratinyyz
Address: 1600 Dundas St W
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday—5:30 pm to 10 pm
- Saturday and Sunday—10 am to 3:30 pm, 5:30 pm to 10 pm
Contact Number: +14165348800
I love coming to Le Baratin for its steak frites and prix fixe menus. You have three main options for prix fixe: three-course, two-course, and three-course vegetarian.
The prix fixe menu changes often, but usually, I stick with a sourdough basket for appetizers (I love how fluffy and tangy the bread is), steak frites for the main course (so tender and juicy), and Moelleux aux Pommes for dessert (an apple pudding with a decadent caramel sauce).
Pro Tip: I recommend booking your reservation ahead of time to ensure your spot. |
J’s Steak Frites
– From: jssteakfrites
Address: 1198 Queen St W
Operating Hours:
- Wednesday to Saturday—5:45 pm to 11 pm
- Sunday—4:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Contact Number: +14379959999
The main thing I like about J’s Steak Frites is that it only has one prix fixe menu, so I know exactly what I’m going to get. As much as I love surprises, sometimes, a menu that I’ve tried and loved is just what I need.
Steak frites is the star of the show and for good reason. It’s tender and savoury, and the fries are wonderfully salty. The fries are also unlimited, so feel free to order as much as your stomach can handle!
Pro Tip: To enhance your meal, order extra sauce or bread for an extra C$4. |
Parquet
– From: restaurantparquet
Address: 97 Harbord St
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday to Thursday—5 pm to 10 pm
- Friday and Saturday—5 pm to 11 pm
Contact Number: +14169222345
Parquet combines cozy and luxurious vibes, which is why I think it’s a perfect spot for a romantic date. The price for the prix fixe menu is also not too bad; it’s usually under C$60 per person.
My favourite appetizer is the sunchoke soup, which is thick and laden with umami-rich confit duck and smoked bacon. For my main course, I love to choose the braised beef sirloin, which is savoury perfection with a hint of sweetness.
The dessert is sorbet, and the flavour changes every time, depending on the availability of ingredients and the season. I have noticed that the flavour is usually fruity, which I love.
Pro Tip: You can host a special event here. This restaurant has several venues, so you can find one that fits your needs. |
The Chase Toronto
– From: thechaseto
Address: 10 Temperance St Fl 5, Dineen Building
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday—11:30 am to 10 pm
- Saturday—5 pm to 10 pm
Contact Number: +16473487000
The Chase Toronto only has its prix fixe menu available on Monday, which is great because I used to hate Mondays, and now I have a reason to look forward to it!
I love coming here during dinner, and I always start with baby gem salad because I need to get my nutrients in. For the main course, I get the prime striploin because it’s so rich and hefty that I feel full in no time.
To end my meal, I choose the burnt orange cheesecake. I love how velvety and subtly sweet the cake base is and how the caramelized honeycomb topping adds a crunchy texture and a burst of intense sugary flavour.
Pro Tip: This restaurant can accommodate up to 200 guests, making it an ideal venue for your special event. |
Piano Piano Restaurant
– From: pianopianotherestaurant
Address: 55 Colborne St
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Wednesday—12 pm to 10 pm
- Thursday to Saturday—12 pm to 11 pm
Contact Number: +14162160295
What makes Piano Piano Restaurant one of my favourite restaurants to visit in Toronto is its vibe: a combination of sophisticated and fun. But this spot also has several prix fixe menus, and some of them are as cheap as C$36!
Personally, I love the Dinner for Two even though it’s the pricier option. This menu already includes snacks, appetizers, two pizzas (or pasta dishes if you prefer), and a couple of tiramisu plates. Oh, and it also gives you a 750-ml bottle of red or white wine! How can I say no to that?
Pro Tip: Looking for a special venue to host your private party? You might want to consider this restaurant. |
Mamakas Taverna
– From: mamakastaverna
Address: 80 Ossington Ave
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday—5:30 pm to 10 pm
- Friday—5 pm to 10 pm
- Saturday and Sunday—11:30 am to 3 pm, 5 pm to 10 pm
Contact Number: +14165195996
If you’re in the West End, one restaurant worth checking out is Mamakas Taverna. This spot specializes in Greek cuisine, and their prix fixe menu is the best way to get a taste of their bestsellers.
The prix fixe starts with horiatiki (Greek salad), which is super refreshing with a hint of creamy saltiness from the feta. Then, we move on to the main course, and my favourite is the lamb chops. I love how succulent the meat is, and the lemon adds a nice zing to every bite.
Pro Tips: Mamakas has a private dining space named Trapézi, which is perfect for an intimate dinner party. If you already have a venue, you can book them for catering instead. |
Le Sélect Bistro
– From: leselectbistro
Address: 432 Wellington St W
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday—11:30 am to 10 pm
- Friday—11:30 am to 10:30 pm
- Saturday—10:30 am to 10:30 pm

Contact Number: +14166266262
Le Sélect Bistro is one of my favourite dinner places because of their exclusive prix fixe menu. This menu is only available from Tuesday to Thursday—what a great way to spice up your weeknight routine!
One of the highlights of their prix fixe menu is the Maine Bouchot mussels, which are sweet, tangy, and buttery. I love that this comes with two pieces of toasted bread, and they add a complementary garlicky flavour.
The prix fixe menu also has canele as the dessert. It’s served crispy and warm, which pairs well with the creamy ice cream and thick chocolate sauce.
Pro Tip: Host a party—or a soiree—here at Le Sélect Bistro. |
Jules Bistro Leslieville
– From: lyndseyintoronto
Address: 1290 Queen St E
Operating Hours: Tuesday to Sunday—5 pm to 11 pm
Contact Number: +14164635853
Jules Bistro is a lovely French restaurant. The ambiance is warm and almost rustic, making me feel like I’m dining in the French countryside. It also offers prix fixe options for couples and for singles.
I usually get the Prix Fixe for One. My favourite starter is French onion soup, which is such a comforting meal—so cheesy and savoury with a hint of sweetness. For the main course, it’s a toss-up between the steak frites and grilled salmon. I love the savoriness of the steak and the mellow flavours of the salmon, so either way, it’s a win for me.
Pro Tip: I recommend adding a cocktail or a glass of wine to your meal. My suggestion is Veuve Cliquot’s champagne, which has lovely notes of vanilla, apple, peach, quince, and pecan. |
The Joneses
– From: thejonesesrestaurant
Address: 33 Yonge St #100
Operating Hours:
- Monday and Tuesday—11:30 am to 9 pm
- Wednesday and Thursday—11:30 am to 11 pm
- Friday—11:30 am to 12 am
- Saturday—4 pm to 12 am
Contact Number: +16472585209
The Joneses is such a cool neighbourhood spot, serving my favourite comfort foods. They’re also offering prix fixe menus for both lunch and dinner, which is another reason why I love coming here.
I usually choose the dinner option because it has the 7-oz grilled flat-iron steak, with spicy and tangy chimichurri and beef fat fries that are richer than your typical fries.
The dinner menu also has more options for desserts. The chocolate cream pie is my favourite. It’s a vegan treat, but it’s just as creamy and decadent as the non-vegan version.
Pro Tip: Enjoy a private dinner here at The Joneses. |
Alice Restaurant and Bar
– From: alicebevy
Address: 488 College St
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday—4 pm to 1 am
- Thursday to Saturday—4 pm to 2 am
Contact Number: +16476937730
If you want to experience a prix fixe meal with a group of friends, then Alice Restaurant and Bar is the best place to go.
Whenever we come here to dine, my friends and I choose to start our meal with a Caesar salad or a salmon tartare. For the second course, we like to rotate our options, but my current favourite is the spaghetti bolognese.
It’s tangy and acidic with a lovely kick of spice. It’s also served with burrata, which is incredibly creamy and buttery.

Aera
– From: aera.restaurant

- Friday—4 pm to 2 am
- Saturday—11:30 am to 2 am
- Sunday—11:30 am to 12 am
Contact Number: +16472585207
The great thing about Aera is not only will you get to treat yourself to a wonderful prix fixe meal, but you can also do it while enjoying a lovely view of the city! This is because this restaurant is located on a rooftop.
Their prix fixe meal is only available during lunch on weekdays (from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm). I recommend getting the salmon samurai roll for your appetizers (buttery, sweet, and umami), then following it up with a dry-aged beef chuck burger (juicy and savoury, with a strong tang).
Pro Tips: This restaurant has several private dining spaces that are perfect for a special party. If you’re planning to dine with a group of more than 10 people, fill out this form. |
Black+Blue
– From: bandbsteak

Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday—11:30 am to 12 am
- Saturday and Sunday—11 am to 12 am
Contact Number: +16473688283
Black+Blue is another one of my favourite restaurants, so I was thrilled when I learned they also have a prix fixe menu (available during lunch). This menu has more than two options per course, and I’ve tried all.
My recommendations are crispy calamari for the appetizers (so crunchy and I love the smoky, spicy aioli) and then steak and frites or stuffed yorkie for the main course.
The steak and frites is a classic, and it comes with a truffle aioli and red wine jus, so you can enjoy earthy and slightly bittersweet flavours. The stuffed yorkie is also great because it’s hearty and combines sweet and savoury flavours well.
Pro Tip: Host your private dinner with friends and family here. |
