I absolutely love collecting new shoes. Whether it’s the latest Jordans or Air Force 1s, you can bet I’m already setting funds aside to add them to my ever-growing collection.
As an avid collector, I’m very particular about where I get my new shoes. I only trust a few stores in the city to ensure that I’m getting high-quality and authentic shoes.
I’m not one to gatekeep (plus, I’m willing to trade), so I’ll be sharing where you can find my trusted shoe stores.
How much does a pair of shoes cost in Toronto?
The cost for a pair of shoes in Toronto can vary widely depending on the brand and style.
On average, you can expect to pay around $120 for a good pair of shoes.
How We Chose
1. The Shoe Company

Shoe brands offered: Nike, Adidas, Converse, Puma, Vans, and more
Address: 2355 Yonge St
Phone number: +1 416-481-8448
Business hours:
10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (MON-FRI)
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (SAT)
11:00 AM – 5:00 PM (SUN)
One of my go-to stores for the latest shoes is The Shoe Company. With seven locations in the city, they’re really accessible, and they offer a wide range of shoes from popular brands like Nike, Adidas, Converse, Puma, and Vans.
The best part about shopping here is the Shoe VIP program. As a member, I enjoy nice perks like free shipping on all orders and exclusive deals that let me save big on my purchases.
Another great feature is their “buy now, pay later” option via Afterpay. I’ve taken advantage of this a few times to ease the impact on my wallet and still get the shoes I love.
However, one thing that bothers me is the inconsistency in the availability of shoes at different stores. Sometimes the website says a pair is available, but when I visit, it’s out of stock.
There is usually a good selection and many sizes are available
“I’ve been shopping in this store for years. This location (Yonge-Eglinton) is especially good if you’re looking for sports shoes/sneakers/hiking boots. There is usually a good selection and many sizes are available. Staff is friendly and attentive, but at the same time they give you a lot of space. You can browse and try on several sizes yourself, as all the boxes in the area are accessible for the customers, so it’s not like somebody has to run each pair for you. It is usually a good idea to shop early in the season – for example now (June 24th) most of the sandals are sold out, and some models have a very few sizes left, but if you went there a few months ago, they were fully stocked. There is also a separate section with “last of the kind” with bargain prices.”

The prices are very competitive
“I order shoes through the online DSW outlet. The prices are very competitive and the staff at the store is always extremely polite and helpful. One woman helped me return a pair of shoes that didn’t fit. Would definitely return”

10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (SAT)
12:00 PM – 4:00 PM (SUN)
For our readers who are into running, The Runners Shop is my top recommendation. Established back in 1975, it’s one of the city’s oldest independently owned specialty running stores.
When it comes to shoes, they carry top brands like ASICS, New Balance, Brooks, Altra, and HOKA. It’s quite easy to learn which of their shoes will be the perfect fit for you thanks to their complimentary shoe fitting service.
What’s cool is that they aren’t just about selling shoes. They have a run club where you can meet fellow like-minded runners and get access to experienced coaches who can improve your running skills.
However, a major issue I have is their disappointing return policy. They can only offer refunds or exchanges within seven days after purchase.
I think I found my new favourite running shoe store
“My last stop over a couple of days chasing a few specific brands, models and colours… and like other reviewers here, I think I found my new favourite running shoe store.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The store is welcoming.
And I got a limited edition ASICS that no other store stocked or seemed to even know existed.”
-Roy LaPorte, Google Reviews
You can absolutely trust their expertise and recommendations
“I can’t say enough great things about The Runner’s Shop. The staff are so friendly, kind, and knowledgeable — you can absolutely trust their expertise and recommendations. But beyond their product knowledge, this is a business that cares about supporting their community. Really happy with my recent shoe purchase, and can’t wait to join their events in the future.”

My go-to for anything run-related
“Amazing store. My go-to for anything run-related. Everyone who works there is very knowledgeable and happy to help. German in particular has always been amazing in helping me choose marathon kicks – he knows a lot and always takes his time making sure I wind up with the best shoes for me.”
-Santiago Tovar, Google Reviews
So glad I chose to buy here
“Had such a great experience at Black Toe when buying new running shoes. Michael was super helpful and knowledgeable, sharing his own personal running experiences and giving some useful tips!
So glad I chose to buy here instead of the brand’s own store as the staff can help compare different brands against each other and have a totally unbiased opinion about which shoes are best for what!
Will 100% be back!!”

Little Burgundy is another shoe store I frequently visit whenever there’s a shoe release. They’re easy to visit since they operate three locations across Toronto.
What I like most about them is the variety. They don’t just stick to sneakers from brands like Adidas and New Balance; they also offer loafers, slip-ons, and even sandals.
I also appreciate that they have a 365-day return policy. You have an entire year to return or exchange items, as long as they’re in new condition with the original packaging and receipt.
Additionally, the financing options they provide through Afterpay and Klarna are a huge help whenever my budget is tight.
However, a major issue I have with them is their slow delivery service. Whenever I order online, I often find myself waiting nearly a whole week for my new shoes to arrive.
I always enjoy my time shopping at Little Burgundy!
