We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Planning my wedding has been exciting, especially when it comes to finding the perfect wedding dress. I want a dress that will beautifully mark the beginning of this new chapter in my life.

Like any blushing bride, that’s why I dedicated time to exploring many wedding dress shops in the city to find the perfect one.

My search led me to some of the finest local shops every future bride should definitely consider. I hope one of these will help make your special day truly unforgettable!

How much does a wedding dress cost in Toronto?

A typical wedding dress in Toronto can cost $3,000.

Take note that your price can vary widely depending on factors like the designer, materials, and customization.

How We Chose

Dress selection – We picked wedding dress shops that have a wide range of styles, sizes, and designers to ensure you’ll have more options to find your dream dress.
Additional services – We also prefer shops that provide additional services to enhance customer experience, including dress alteration, customization, and preservation.
Accessibility – We assessed whether these shops are near major roads and public transit stations. We also checked whether they’re open on most days of the week.
Customer service – We considered whether their staff members always treat their clients kindly and respectfully. We also looked at whether they respond to enquiries quickly.
Price fairness – We evaluated whether their prices are fair considering the uniqueness of their dresses, additional services, accessibility, and special deals offered.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Best for Bride, so I made sure to come see what’s up. They were founded by Olga Pomeransky in 2005 and have rapidly grown from a small boutique into one of Toronto’s prime wedding dress shops.

I think a key reason why is they boast an impressive range of dresses from renowned designers like Julian Eve and Jess Adore. They even feature some fantastic wedding dress options for LGBTQ+ brides!

Another thing that also caught my eye during my visit is their aftercare services. Not only can they assist you with dry cleaning services, but they also provide dress preservation services to keep your gown in perfect condition after your big day.

However, I should mention that it was a pain to secure an appointment here due to their extreme popularity.

Pros

  • 4 locations in the GTA
  • Has dress options for LGBTQ+ brides
  • Offers dress preservation services
  • Sells eco-friendly dresses
  • Free appointments

Cons

  • Tends to get fully booked quickly
  • Sometimes cancels appointments abruptly

What an amazing bridal shop!

“Omg, what an amazing bridal shop! The staff are so kind, professional, and truly experts in their field. Olga was incredible—she helped me patiently find my perfect bridal dress, and made the entire experience fun and enjoyable. I absolutely loved working with her! Suzanne was also so sweet and helpful. The selection is beautiful, and the prices are fantastic. Unlike other shops where I felt rushed and pressured, this place made me feel comfortable and valued. I highly recommend this bridal shop to anyone looking for a great experience and a beautiful dress!”

Made picking a dress the smoothest, funnest and easiest experience

“I had the best experience at Best for Bride. Susan, who was working the floor that night, made picking a dress the smoothest, funnest and easiest experience. She truly made me feel like I was taken care of from the minute I walked through the door, despite knowing I had no idea what I wanted! I left that same night with the most perfect dress that surpassed all expectations. Susan was so kind and patient the entire time, and truly made this experience memorable. I highly recommend choosing Best for Bride to pick out your dream dress!”

Aside from the usual designer gowns, I considered whether a custom wedding dress would suit me better. That’s why I booked an appointment at Chic Bridals, a Canadian designer brand that started in 2017.

My appointment was truly enjoyable, thanks to their Designer Experience. Brides get a personalized consultation with their designer, Noor Alkhalili, to create a dress that’s uniquely theirs.

Moreover, I was impressed with the diverse designs they offer, which include both classic and contemporary styles. They even have chic mini-dress designs for those looking for a bold wedding look.

My only major concern about this shop is their hefty $250 consultation fee. That’s already a huge sum of money many people might not be willing to pay just to book an appointment.

Pros

  • Specialises in custom dresses
  • Offers personalized, private consultations
  • Lead designer has 10 years of experience
  • Can do rush orders

Cons

  • $250 consultation fee
  • Inconsistent operating hours

Their designs are great

“These ladies at Chic Bridal are amazing. Every one of them is very helpful and caring. Specifically Yustina, Noor and Nahid were so great and spent so much time helping us choose what we want. After browsing and checking out so many stores our bride said yes to her dress in this store. Their designs are great. I highly recommend them.”

Their attention to detail was incredible

“Noor and her team made the whole experience so enjoyable and personalized. They really listened to what I wanted, and their attention to detail was incredible. They helped me find the perfect dress and made sure every detail was just right. If you’re looking for a stress-free and beautiful experience, they’re the ones to go to!”

If you’re looking to wear a timeless classic for your wedding day, check out Vintage Bride! This bridal shop was founded in 2008 by Cher Thornton and features a variety of vintage and antique wedding dresses.

During my visit, I was able to explore their gorgeous collection that spans from the late 1800s to the early 1990s. They even have a line of dresses made from sustainable materials, which is a good option for eco-conscious brides.

Plus, they provide antique dress restoration services. If you have a family heirloom gown that’s seen better days, the skilled team at Vintage Bride can bring it back to its former glory.

One of my biggest concerns in my search for the perfect wedding dress is cost, which is why I was curious about Love Deities. This studio in Scarborough offers an impressive range of rental wedding dresses made by designers like Amelia Couture, Hulda, Valentina, and Klara.

What I personally like about this shop is the many promotions and deals offered. On select months, they provide up to a 50% discount on all their rental dresses and tuxedos.

Furthermore, they collaborate with local businesses to enhance their services. For example, renting one of their dresses automatically grants you a 20% discount on wedding photography packages from Toronto–Hong Kong photographer Rafael Wong.

Amazing variety of dresses at great prices!

“Love Deities has an amazing variety of dresses at great prices! A huge thanks to Lily for being so friendly and patient, really taking the time to understand my needs and helping me find the perfect dress.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, affordable dress, I highly recommend Love Deities!”

Price was very reasonable

“I was looking to rent a second wedding dress for my wedding reception, as my ceremony dress was too long for dancing. Luckily Lily was able to schedule me in for an appointment given the tight timeline. She was so patient and kind, and I found the perfect knee length dress. It had a cute and modern design, and the price was very reasonable. I can’t thank Lily enough for helping me with last minute dress rental and being so reliable and professional!”

Grace Loves Lace is a renowned wedding dress designer and seller that currently operates in four countries around the world. Here in Toronto, they offer a robust selection of dresses in various styles such as boho, mermaid, and long sleeve.

What I probably like the most about them is their virtual appointment services. It can be of huge help for brides who can’t visit their shop in person. A stylist will guide you through the gown selection process via video call, making it easy to find “The One” from the comfort of your own home.

I also appreciate that they have a “buy now, pay later” payment option that’s offered through ZipPay. This can be useful to those who have tight budgets.

However, it’s disappointing to learn that some of their former clients encountered dismissive behaviour from their staff.

Pros

  • Diverse selection of dresses
  • Virtual appointment services
  • Offers financing options
  • Can do customised dresses

Cons

  • Some dismissive staff
  • Inconsistent operating hours

The entire experience, from start to finish, was the best I’ve ever had

“My husband and I chose Grace Loves Lace for my wedding dress for our July 2024 wedding and couldn’t be happier. The entire experience, from start to finish, was the best I’ve ever had. The body-positive atmosphere, exclusive use of the space, and champagne made it feel so special. The girls were incredibly supportive and clearly love what they do, without any pushy sales tactics. The dress itself was of incredible quality, and everyone’s still talking about how stunning it was.”

The best dress shopping experience I’ve had

“Grace Loves Lace was hands down the best dress shopping experience I’ve had. My consultant Rachel was so kind, respectful, warm and caring. The space is breathtakingly beautiful and I was made to feel so special. Every dress I tried on was in perfect condition and the styles are so unique. It was so hard to choose but I did end up finding my perfect dress at Grace Loves Lace! I HIGHLY recommend this store to anyone and everyone and I will be bringing my newly engaged friends here ASAP. Thank you for a perfect and unforgettable experience!”
